For beginning students, I use the Trevor Wye beginning books and supplement with solos, etudes, songs and exercises that I give them which are appropriate for their level. My teaching style for playing the Flute is patience, fun and compassion. I was once a beginner and started from the bottom and worked my way up. I only would like that for my students. I will make a reward chart for my student and for every note or scale mastered there will be a sticker put on the board. During the initial lesson, I determine what the student is interested in learning the best approach pace to help them achieve their goals. While I have recommend materials to varying levels of students, every lesson approach is different. With all my students, I believe keeping them engaged and excited at what they are doing is most important.
