While at ONU, I was a member of the Wind Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Marching Band, and Woodwind Ensemble. I was given opportunities to perform in these various ensembles on clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and flute. I served as the principal clarinet of the Wind Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra, Instrumental Music Librarian, Wind Orchestra Ensemble Manager, and Wind Orchestra Assistant Conductor. I attended Wright State University to earn my Master of Music degree in Flute Performance and worked as a graduate teaching assistant during my time there. I graduated from Wright State in 2017. I assign method books, etudes (studies), and repertoire appropriate for the playing level of the student. My teaching emphasizes fundamentals first for students of every level. This fundamental study supports students in their pursuit of their musical and artistic goals. The method books I recommend students begin with are in the Rubank series, either Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. Etudes to supplement will be the Cavally Melodious and Progressive studies.
