I am pursuing my Bachelor of Music in Flute at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music as a student of Randy Bowman, Principal Flute of the Cincinnati Symphony. My personal musical highlights include performances with the CCM Philharmonia, Wind Orchestra, and Chamber Players. You can also find me in the pit orchestras for many theaters in Cincinnati. I have been playing the clarinet for 33 years.    Although; clarinet is my primary instrument, I actually started my musical career on the viola and have been playing that for 34 years.   During the course of my career, I have had the unique experience of leading a bag pipe band.  I have also made a special emphasis on my studies in Latin percussion due to my background in Salsa music. I began teaching in Mississippi in 2011 to college students at the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Cincinnati, I began teaching preschool music. I began developing a preschool curriculum at the University of Cincinnati's Preparatory Program that combined reading, dancing, singing and imagining. After teaching privately for a year, I began my position as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Outreach (COR) Music Project. I believe in a very strong fundamental background and have created a set of exercises geared to maximize effectiveness, and guarantee progress. Excellence in preparation leads to excellence in performance, and a focus on fundamentals builds the skillset and the confidence to achieve. My experience teaching goes back to high school in which I tutored students in multiple subjects including Spanish and English. I also would help my section to improve as a section leader. During my college years, I worked as a graduate teaching assistant which allowed me to help students primarily in music. Part of my duties included teaching smaller classes and tutoring students in music theory and ear training.
