I teach beginner to beginning intermediate drum students. The student will learn some of the most popular rock beats and rhythms and practical sticking techniques in the course. They will develop the "weak" hand and foot, limb independence coordination, and rudimentary skills. I teach a student to be completely independent on the kit by teaching them how to set-up and tune themselves. I taught private lessons to students at the middle school I attended so they would be prepared for what they'd have to do once they got to our level. I start my beginning students off with learning to read music notation simply from a rudiment sheet and moving into a cd play a long book with basic drum rhythms and song structure. For intermediate to advance students, I typically start with Stick Control for the snare drummer by George Stone. For basic drum set we start with "The Rhythm Book" covering all drum set styles.
