After high schoolI attended the Juilliard School. Later I began teaching at a couple local music stores. That is when I discovered my love for teaching. Along with being a freelance drummer, I started teaching private drum lessons at an after school program at the Trinity School in NYC from 2010 until 2017. Later on that year I started teaching at another after school program at the Village School in NYC until 2018. I am a third-year undergrad at NYU, studying Music Education with a concentration in instrumental performanceand I love it! I like to write out lessons, but I generally start my students off using Benny Greb's "The Language of Drumming." My teaching drum set experiences started over 15 years ago when I was playing many different styles of music. I wanted to be able to assist and encourage my students to be able to play drums and vibes or marimba. Teaching mallet instruments to drum set students allowed me to help the student see why he or she played certain drum set grooves and fills at certain points. I have taught over 50 students for Musika since 2003, providing drum instruction for students of all ages and ability levels, including providing special instruction and encouragement for students with special needs. I like to listen to my students and learn what music interests them and what they respond to musically.
