My main objective is to give students the tools they need to evolve and follow their artistic drive. The lessons are typically divided in two parts: 1) A "technical" part on the snare drum to work on technique and rudiments. 2) A "music" part on the drums exploring technique and musical applications. I have everything needed in the studio to play along with a metronome and tracks. My lessons have a specific flow. Instead of focusing the whole lesson only on a book, I take my time to jump around and make sure the lesson isn't repetitive and boring. We will switch the focus from to warm-ups, to the book, to scales, to chord, etc. I will also frequently express my gratitude and appreciate to you instead of complaining with frustration. No lesson is complete until the student has a solid understanding of the concepts discussed and demonstrated. "No pressure" is my mantra! Students will learn music theory, how to read musical notation for the snare drum and the drum set. I teach how to control of the drumsticks, starting with the loose grip and mastering the bounce and rebound. After a few years of private lessons, I was offered a percussion teaching position at the private music school, Tri-Key Music Center, in Hawthorne NJ.
