I'm not overly harsh or judgmental but instead I try to make each lesson a true learning experience where there's no pressure and the student is free to make mistakes (even encouraged to take risk and make mistakes) in pursuit of their passion of music. The first thing I establish is technique as it is the foundation to moving around the set and becoming comfortable. Often this means scales, chords, arpeggios, music literacy, performance practice and listening skills. To accomplish this, I use standard materials that are often available online and are used by college and University music programs around the world. I graduate from Bethune-Cookman University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and in 2010 with a Master of Music degree in Music Performance from Georgia State University.
