I 1987 I graduated from McLennan Community College with an Associates Degree in Music Performance. In 1994 I graduated from the University Of Texas In Arlington with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. I also have a Texas Teaching Certificate. On the first lesson you will set short and long term goals you would like to achieve on your playing, and I will then design a lesson plan to achieve those goals. From there on each lesson will be a fun and challenging workshop in which I will help you gain technique and musicality in your favorite music styles, always working toward your goals. My work teaching drum set began at age 16 with a position at The Blue Ridge Studio for the Performing Arts in Berryville,VA as well as teaching out of my home. Once I moved to Denton to attend the University of North Texas, I began teaching piano,drum set and guitar for the companies Taylor Robinson Music based out of Dallas and Hall Music Productions in Southlake,TX. I started playing snare at 10 and drumset at 14 focusing mostly on rock drumming. I played quads and quints in marching band in high school and bass drum in college. I then studies jazz and percussion at Grand Rapids Community College and Grand Valley State University. I then studied Music composition at University of North Texas. I played church drums through out all of this as well as with jazz trios, rock bands, and cover bands. Read More

I like to teach with books but also with songs.  It's all about having fun! I have different routines and practice methods. The idea is to keep things positive and challenge free. Working with a metronome is a key factor for finding the right tempo to make sure that the student will feel comfortable while he or she is practicing the information.
