Hi everyone! I have been involved in performing and recording music my entire life, primarily as drummer and percussionist, but also as composer/ songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist. After eighteen years as director of the Enrichment Center Percussion Ensemble, I am devoting myself full time to music creation and private music instruction. I'm trying to put each student in touch with their inner creative. Everyone learns at a different pace and my approach is to teach something to mastery level rather than fill a quota. Inspiration and the joy of playing is first and foremost with my approach. By breaking difficult passages down into digestable pieces and making attainable goals, I find this keeps the student interested and builds confidence to overcome weaknesses. Read More

I have a Bachelor of Science in Music Production and Recording Arts from Elon University in Elon, North Carolina. I am also attending UNCSA for a Master's degree in Film Music Composition. As a foundation, I start my beginner-level students with basic the basic understanding of rhythm patterns, dynamic control, and basic limb independence. I use Benny Greb's "The Language of Drumming" as it has proven to be a fun and effective learning tool for well over a decade. From there it's really dependent on the student and their learning style/pace. I try to never create a particular "method" that doesn't allow for the student's uniqueness to be taken into consideration. Read More
