After seeing an unforgettable performance by the Blue Man Group, I became inspired to start playing the drums at 10 years old. I participated in every school ensemble possible throughout elementary school, middle school, and high school including jazz band, marching band, pit orchestra, jazz combo, concert band, and a blues/rock band outside of school that regularly performed around southern New Jersey and Philadelphia. Since 2008, I have performed live on over 200 occasions around the mid Atlantic and New England regions.In 2014, I graduated from Berklee College of Music summa cum laude with focuses on Music Business and Drum Set Performance.I currently play drums with Vitamin Sun, a progressive/alternative/indie band located in Boston, and GEPH, a progressive/metal/jazz instrumental trio also located in Boston. I strongly believe that everyone is very different.  Learning styles and musical goals are very much a part of this.  Some find reading from a book helps them, so for most students I begin by recommending "A Modern Method For Guitar" from the Berklee Press, however for others a book is not as helpful as listening to some music and watching someone play.  I like to introduce as much theory as is desired from the student because theory is a very important part of the musical process, but if the student prefers to get playing first and understand the “why” later then we can work something out in that regard.  Depending on musical interest, we can work with different genre's and pieces to promote specific techniques and practice routines.
