I began teaching in 1999 and have maintained a private studio since then while also working for various music schools and after-school music programs. I've worked with students from ages 5 to 75 and have found that students are very receptive to my energetic and engaging personality while being reassured by my ease of communication and patience. I had a class of about 10 or 15 kids and we worked on solfege, theory, and singing. During that time I was also teaching drums in the same school and privately in my house in Normandy, France. I began teaching music while I was in college. Although I was not an education major, I did take education classes and learned a lot about pedagogy during my time in college. I have experience teaching beginning percussion-intermediate percussion on mallet instruments, snare drum, timpani, drum set, and orchestral percussion. I have taught music theory/piano to many students over the years.
