For beginning students it is essential to practice rudiments with a metronome. I will also start you out with basic 4/4 drum beats and explain to you the importance of balance and the back beat. The sooner a student learns proper posture and good technique the sooner they will be winning the battle of the bands. There are several books and web sites that I use to teach from, as well as a large personal library of method books and performance pieces from all genres. All are affordable and can be obtained at local music stores or online. I can make recommendations on books, sticks, drum pads, beginner or more advanced drum sets (as well as hardware, cymbals, ect.).
