In middle school, I began performing and teaching music during the summers at Vacation Bible School for children ages 3-10. Throughout high school, as a member of a variety of bands, I performed at a wide array of venues around New England. During this time, I ventured into song writing and musical arrangement. For beginning students who are children, I typically like to start with rudiments and technique studies. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will introduce the Moeller method. Later will move to the drumset and apply all 3 methods and became to develop what I like to call he groove and bass excises and different warm ups. I absolutely LOVE music!!! Let me say that first. I really enjoy playing, listening to, teaching, and learning about music. Most of my playing experience came from growing up in the church and playing in various school and extracurricular music groups. I currently play professionally but I enjoy giving back to students what others have given me over the years. I hope to do the same for my students. I encourage my students to set short as well as long term goals so that they can have a timetable of tangible results as motivators to get to the next level. I always take into consideration the amount of time that we have together (number of lessons per month) in order to reach these goals so I am able to keep everything on track.
