My teaching experience dates back to my teenager days, as I began to play in my high school marching band to began to understand rudiments and reading. So coming from church everything I played I could break it down into rudiments. I started teaching private lessons to the kids at my church and other churches, and its been about 9 years or so. I simply enjoy helping people establish and accomplish their goals on their instruments. The first step is to identify what holds a student's attention. What is it about music that has motivated them to study? Not everyone has the same goal or vision, which is a good thing. Even self-taught musicians incorporate theory and harmony into their compositions. Techniques used are as follows: Piano/Keyboard, basic knowledge of scales, note identifcation and correct finger positioning and usgae. Drum instruction includes learning the 26 standard drum rudiments. A must to learn proper drum playing, whether on snare drum, drumset or even axulliary perucssion instruments.
