Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. When selecting repertoire, it is important that the music is going to challenge the students, but not so difficult that the students will be unsuccessful. Besides difficulty, intellectual design is taken into account when selecting repertoire. It is valuable for students go beyond the basic execution of notes and rhythms. Regardless of what percussion studies a student does and does not want to pursue, I start with a strong focus on the nuts and bolts of percussive technique. Doing these techniques can open the door to any number of advanced percussion areas. However, just because rudimentary techniques are necessary doesn't mean they can't be fun! All are affordable and can be obtained at local music stores or online. I can make recommendations on books, sticks, drum pads, beginner or more advanced drum sets (as well as hardware, cymbals, ect.).
