Whether my new students are children or not, I will usually start from the basics and work our way up from there. With children, I will stretch the basic lessons further until they have a solid foundation to build on. I write out every single lesson plan by the date and have each student do the same so that we do not lose track of where we are. I am a percussionist from Ecuador. I have broad and deep training in world and latin percussion, classical and contemporary music performance, and composition. In 2011 I moved to Brasil to complete my undergrad, and in 2015 I graduated from UNESP (Sao Paulo State University) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Percussion Performance. Later in 2017, I moved to Los Angeles to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in World Percussion from the California Institute of the Arts, where I had the opportunity to study with renowned musicians.
