Books I use for teaching Piano is the Piano Adventures series of books by Nancy and Randall Faber, which is a great lesson book and a good basic piano method for beginners through intermediate level students. For guitar I use the Hal Leonard Incredible Chord Finder and the Warren Nunes Jazz guitar Rhythm and Background Chords and the Solo Patterns book. For intermediate students, patience will be needed to advance their technique with practicing rudiments. I love to watch a student progress. It gives me such joy to see them happy. I always evaluate every student and I set for them small and realistic goals. I explain to them that in order to achieve a certain goal you must first obtain the facility by practicing the exercises assigned to them. Sometimes its hard for small children to understand why they are doing a certain exercise so I explain to them and show what the drummer is doing on a certain performance they want to emulate and in order to achieve that, they must go through the exercises assigned.
