I doubt you will be very happy about it in the long run. On the other hand, even very simple goals, when pursued with love, almost always provide a bedrock of UNIVERSAL musical information, no matter what form the goal might take. In other words, anything you want to work on musically will teach you more than JUST a specific song or piece; and I consider it my job to help you see just how much of a treasure is waiting under the surface, which you can then use for all other pieces of music you explore in the future. Hello! I am a highly energetic and passionate music educator from the central Florida area. Over the past 10 years, I have worked with a wide range of instrumental students in and out of the classroom. My primary focus is percussion (contemporary and orchestral), but I am proficient on several other instruments as well. My main goal as an educator is to help students understand the fundamentals of music at a higher level and fine tune their skills on their chosen instrument. Read More

Lessons are usually pretty casual. I like to use a book so that we always have a clear path. Students can request that their lessons be more vigorous (say if you're auditioning for a part or instrument for some activity) but otherwise, I tend to keep things more laid back. Read More

My methods of teaching vary depending on the age and skill level of the student. If the student is very young, I start them on simple exercises Designed by me. As they progress, I begin to implement certain books that Ive used in my career. There are three books I use religiously, Stick Control Ted Reeds syncopation book and N.A.R.D snare drum studies. As the student advances I choose books which will help them achieve the appropriate technique for the appropriate style they want to master. Read More

No matter what skill level, the fundamentals are always the same: practice, patience, and practice some more. But the key is patience. For beginner students, patience will be vital for overcoming the independence element of controlling both hands and feet. For intermediate students, patience will be needed to advance their technique with practicing rudiments. And for the advanced students, patience through repetition is crucial to fully unlock their potential. I will teach them to combine previous techniques while mastering syncopation. Read More

My teaching experience started early on as a recognized multi instrumentalist even by my friends , I was able to teach them and put musical groups together or join existing ones. Playing various instruments in several different bands at the same time was a challenge but lots of fun, and has continued as of recently. I have played throughout the US and parts of Europe, while also teaching. I studied jazz guitar with Vik Juris and Berklee graduate Dave Rubin. Read More
