In 2016, I was Principal Clarinetist of the Montgomery County Junior Honors Band. In 2015, I won the MTNA Junior Woodwind State Competition in Virginia. Following my state win, I then earned second place at the MTNA Southern Division Junior Woodwind Competition in Tampa, Florida. I also won the Asian American Music Societys International Competition in 2016, and was invited to play as a soloist at the Bulgarian Embassy in Washington DC. I recently completed my Bachelors Degree in Music Education at Penn State University where I also studied Clarinet. I am devoted to becoming the best performer that I can be as well as the best teacher that I can be, as I see the areas enhancing one another. I am using my experience with Musika to hone my skills as an educator. I have participated in clinics in Japan and Korea, where I developed skills in individual and group instruction. I have worked with sectionals in the army in addition to directing rehearsals. I believe in teaching time management from the start. I will start with a small weekly practice goal, and as the students progress, that goal will increase. Another part of time management is not over- assigning music to practice. At first, I expect the student to practice 2-3 small songs. As they become more confident and comfortable, I will assign 3-4 songs, and so on. Every week should have goals that are achievable and make the student feel accomplished. Read More

I recently graduated from Temple University with my Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance degree, where I studied with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra and gained valuable knowledge about the fundamentals of exceptional clarinet playing, such as tone production, articulation, technique, and musicality.
