I have been teaching since 2006 and have had students become music educators and amateur musicians. I have students performing in PMEA district band, honors bands, HS marching bands and community bands. I work with clarinet and saxophone students of all levels, and beginner piano students. In 2019, I received the Semper Fidelis award from the Marine Corps in recognition of my diligence, dedication and musical excellence as a performing high school bandsman and soloist. I continued my clarinet studies at the University of Pittsburgh, where I recently graduated with a major in Music Performance alongside my additional major in Computational Biology. For beginning students I typically start with the core concepts of clarinet playing, such as sound production, proper breathing, hand/finger position, and tonguing, as well as proper instrument assembly and care. We will begin with method books such as the Rubank Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced studies. I am a music teacher with experience in teaching students in grades 4-12. I have taught all woodwind and brass instruments, percussion, and ukulele lessons.
