I was born in Montreal, Canada and started to learn violin at the age of four, in my grandmother's music school. My brothers and I attended weekly lessons at the school and music was part of our home life. I quickly developed a passion for music and became a more serious student in my pre-teen years. Over the past 13 years, I have taught piano, music theory, and music composition to a diverse group of learners, including school-age children, college students, and adults of distinct backgrounds. From 2014-2018 I received the Graduate Teaching Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, where I led piano courses for non-Music majors, and held weekly recitations and office hours for required courses for Music majors. I have been playing and gigging jazz music since I was right around 11. I work to make the saxophone into a multi-dimensional extension of myself. I was exposed to bands like Circa Survive and Lydia around the same time I was getting into monster players like Chris Potter, Kenny Garrett, and Chick Corea. I have been teaching since 2006 and have had students become music educators and amateur musicians. I have students performing in PMEA district band, honors bands, HS marching bands and community bands. I work with clarinet and saxophone students of all levels, and beginner piano students.
