It enabled me to get into the Air Force Band and legally avoid serving in combat during wartime. It has also been a source of pleasure for decades. No matter which direction my students go, I always try to make sure they're having fun with the music and being able to play their instrument. Because otherwise, the music won't come out the same way without having that extra feeling put into it.
