Since graduation, I was the director of jazz at Valor Voyager Academy, working in conjunction with Jazz Empowers, a nonprofit that installs and maintains jazz bands as an after school activity for schools with no music program. My efforts since my engagement at Valor Voyager have been centered around performing, and; though fruitful, I feel that I am at my best when I am teaching. I truly hope that I can assist any student in realizing any goal set in front of them. Read More

I have been teaching privately for about four years. Most recently, I was awarded the Graduate Teaching Position at Bemont University for my final semester. I was in charge of weekly instruction for seven students, conducting both classical and commercial seminars, and leading Jazz Band and Small Group. I make it a point to have a healthy balance between the student's interests as a player as well as what I feel are essential qualities inherent in the instrument's performance practice. Read More

Hello All! I am a woodwind instructor, specifically clarinet and alto saxophone, with over 15 years of musical experience. I began my interest in music through band in school, and my love for it grew as I developed as a musician. I then began transposing music, composing music, and began to learn the keyboard as well. I have studied musical history, performed in group and individual settings, and am currently developing unique musical concepts to make the learning experience for my students as enjoyable as possible. I am a dedicated clarinetists and private instructor, and I love being able to teach people of all ages and skill levels. I am a Sophomore Music Industry major at Middle Tennessee State University. One of my biggest enjoyments of the clarinet is solo repertoire, and I've participated extensively in competitions all over. I've also enjoyed playing in a variety of youth and collegiate orchestras, and find that orchestra is one more thing I am passionate about. Read More

I work with Rubank or any method books provided by their band instructor. There will be supplemental materials, especially for more advanced students, that are instrument specific such as etudes and technical exercises. We will continue focusing on band literature, contemporary, classical, or solo literature depending on the goals of the students and their interests. While there are some general methods, it is best to meet the student where their needs are and tailor the specific methods to those needs. Read More

I'm a music lover and love to spread the musical knowledge to others. I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2007 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education where I primarily studied the Clarinet. My very first instrument I played was the Piano, and I started at the age of 8. I primarily perform in church now. Read More
