With this book, the student learns the fundamentals for their instrument. Once the student demonstrates an understanding of this, we will move on to sheet music. For more advanced students, we will typically use an etude book like Klose to explore the technical aspects of musical performance (such as technique development, phrasing, dynamics, etc.). In 2006, my love for music began at Temecula Middle School, which is where I played clarinet for three years and performed in Disneyland and Las Vegas. In 2013, I graduated from Temecula Valley High School and I completed four years of marching band there. I was clarinet section leader for one year and also played with the Bravura Youth Symphony Orchestra outside of school for three years. Being able to read music is important, but what's more important is being able to hear music correctly. During the past few years, I found students often being interested in listening to music more than reading a written chart.
