I have always had a natural affinity for the musical arts since I could remember; beginning at age 3, I began tinkering with the keyboard, and since then I have expanded my repertoire to encompass over 20 musical instruments with the aid of friends, family, teachers, and the resources they have offered me. While I have not formally pursued a career in performance art, I have nonetheless continued with my musical exploits on the side, on my personal time and, when the opportunity presented itself, with others in performing groups. I am a recent graduate of SUNY Purchase that has been teaching for over 5 years. I am new to the New Jersey area, I just moved from Albany, New York and I bring with me a desire to teach and inspire students to be creative. For beginning students I typically start with an elementary band method (Yamaha, Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, etc..). We focus on basic tone production, finger technique, note reading, and playing simple songs. Once the student is comfortable we begin to work out of a duet book. This gives the student a chance to "perform" with me at each lesson, tends to accelerate progress, and is fun! For advanced students we can focus on particular areas of interest.Whether jazz, classical or popular music is your focus, refining various aspects of tone and technique are always incorporated into the learning process. Instruments: Flute Clarinet
Playing clarinet has always been a staple of my life. I started mentoring and giving private lessons to younger clarinet students in high school and continued on from there! I have traveled to students homes and worked out of my studio ever since. I like to use a good combination of technique exercises and expressive studies to give my students a well rounded education and understanding of how to perform. Read More

It's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Sometime I would bring my soprano or tenor saxophone with me and create music with a student by trying to show him how music works. Read More

I began teaching in 2012 when I was awarded the Graduate Assistant position at Western Michigan University. As a G.A., I was responsible for teaching non-music majors saxophone lessons, theory and ear-training, as well as coaching ensembles. I also taught flute and clarinet at Paramount Charter Academy in Kalamazoo, Michigan to middle school students. It was a very rewarding experience to teach people of various ages, ability levels, and goals, and allowed me to refine my teaching methods based on the needs of each student. I currently teach music theory, piano, saxophone, clarinet, flute, drums, and composition at Belle Arti Center for the Performing Arts in Queens, NY. Read More
Instruments: Clarinet
Over the years I've discovered that taught properly from day one, anyone can play the clarinet with ease! The clarinet is typically known as being a troublesome instrument to learn, but I have found that this is only due to poor hand technique and poor embouchure. Squeaks and squawks are only due to fingers not covering the holes, or too much mouth piece in the mouth. It is a priority of mine to make sure the student can produce a quality sound on their instrument, (for themselves, for myself and everyone else who gets to listen to them practice). Read More
