I typically start woodwind students with the Standard of Excellence Comprehensive Band Method series. I like to use the Faber Piano Adventures Series or the Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course for piano instruction. In addition to the method book, I like to incorporate physical/breathing exercises, supplemental warm-ups, sight-reading, music theory worksheets, and student selected repertoire in lessons. In 2014, I graduated from University of Southern Maine, where I studied clarinet with Tom Parchman, with a degree in Music Education. In 2017, I graduated from University fo Delaware with a dual Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance and Composition, where I studied clarinet with Chris Nichols. My beginning students learn the fundamentals of their instrument. I want every student to get a well rounded education from me. Woodwinds students study from Essential Elements. Young piano students use the Faber collection and older students use the Bastien series for the Older Beginner. Practical Theory from Sandy Feldstein is used for instrumental students. Spike and Party Cat piano theory books is used for younger piano students. I encourage students to learn solo pieces and memorize scales so they can audition for various festivals. Read More

I started teaching friends various instruments and general music theory as a freshman. Then I continued my teaching with tutoring my fellow bass students with more difficult material. Now, after having graduated from Rowan University, I teach with the Resonance School of Music teaching guitar, clarinet electric bass and upright bass. While Resonance is certainly a more traditional approach, I like to think I balance it out by also teaching at a School of Rock, giving instruction on both guitar and electric bass. Read More
