I have also adjudicated and taught masterclasses. I've found a passion for working with others that I didn't know that I had. I am an avid music educator and performer. I am originally from Austin, TX, but moved to Colorado in order to pursue a masters degree in performance and pedagogy at the University of Colorado Boulder. I have performed throughout Colorado as a saxophonist, clarinetist and flutist. I love listening to all kinds of music including jazz, classical, folk and funk. I ask them to bring any materials they have and will often recommend books and supplemental material I have had success with. My method is altered depending on the student's age, skill level, and ultimate goals. For beginners, we start with the fundamentals of playing and caring for the instrument as well as the basic of reading music.  As the student starts to get a firm grasp on the fundaments, we will begin moving towards the goals of the student. Those goals differ from student to student. It may be to be able to play in a community band, earn a first chair seat in your schools band, build a strong audition portfolio, or even just to be able to perfect a favorite song. Read More
