Studied with world renowned distinguished professor Janos Starker and received Master of Music degree in 1984 from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana. I was a member of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, and a doctoral candidate at the University of Memphis. I worked with South Dakota Symphony, Tupelo Symphony and North Carolina Symphony. For novice students, I initiate their cello education with "All for Strings Book 1" by Gerald E. Anderson and "I Can Read Music" by Joanne Martin. Once students grasp the fundamentals of reading music and producing sound on the cello, I guide them towards exploring Suzuki Books and build their repertoire from there. As they progress, I introduce supplementary materials such as Rick Mooney's "Position Pieces for Cello" and "Double Stops for Cello" to enhance their technical proficiency. Read More

I have had 2 private students for the past year both for voice: -Zoe 15 -Lucas 13 I officially started teaching while I was with The After School All-Stars teaching their school of rock band. I was with them for 3 years and in that time I was able to not only have the students perform as a band but I also taught the students how to be "techies". Not all of them wanted to play instruments but they still wanted to be a part of the group so I said Why Not?" Furthermore, I update and change my methods if I feel the current method is becoming ineffective. Hi there! I'm very excited to be pursuing my lifelong passion for sharing music. I've played cello and piano since childhood and recieved my Masters in Cello Performance from the University of Redlands in May of 2014. Prior to that I recieved my Bachelors in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Northern Colorado. I've also recieved a certificate in Film and Television Scoring from the UCLA Extension.
