I graduated at Boston Conservatory at Berklee with a Bachelors of Music Performance. I started teaching piano to both children and adults in high school. One of them was 5 years old, the other was 6, and another was 13 years old. I've also taught a 19-year-old for a short period of time. For the two kids who were 5 and 6, they were total beginners at piano and did not know anything about piano so my main focus was to introduce them to this instrument and teach them the basics of music theories, scores, and postures. My approach is "Music as a support for life." We learn beyond the technical foundations but also about the intention of an author-composer in order to give a genuine rendition true to the intended emotion. Each student is treated as a unique individual and are brought to rise to the challenges they gave themselves with my caring passion for the art of music making and my respect for the student. I believe motivation is most important when students learn something. The rewards are worthy working for. If they get to be able to play and sight read, they will be proud of themselves. I encourage pupils build self-esteem, confidence and strength. I am very organized in my work, I am able to plan my lessons carefully ensuring that I cover everything on the syllabus and I plan my time well, making sure that I spend enough time with a student who is preparing for a music exam or with many students before a performance that we are putting on. I began teaching in 2016 as a Strings Coach (violin, viola, and cello) with the Harmony Project. The Harmony Project brings music education to underserved communities at no cost to them.
