For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Suzuki Method and the Sassmannshaus Early Start books. As they grasp the beginning fundamentals, I incorporate the Alfred "My First Theory Book" series. As the students advance, we begin using Martin's "I Can Read Music," Rick Mooney's "Position Pieces for Cello" and "Fun in Thumb Position." I graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a Bachelor's degree in Classical Cello Performance. I began playing cello in elementary school, and not soon after began participating in Youth Orchestras both in New Jersey and in New York. After attending several music festivals over the summer, I took an interest in music as a career. Additionally, I have been a soloist with orchestras and performed concerts sponsored by the US government, the Japanese government and was given a Contribution Award by the Phoenix Government. As the Junior Director/ Cello faculty of Cincinnati Young Artists Festival which takes place at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music every summer.
