I normally use the Standard of Excellence method books for most of my students; however, I am open minded to adjusting to each individual student's musical needs, whether it be Jazz, Classical, or whatever style music the student is focusing on. For Drummers, I prefer the Haskell Harr Method, or the Buddy Rich Method Book, as well as the Breeze Easy Method Book. I began teaching cello my Junior year of highschool and have continued for the past 5 years. While attending DePaul University I studied Cello Pedagogy with Dr. Paula Kosower for three consecutive semesters. My time learning under her has allowed me to sculpt my own thoughts on the subject of teaching. I have learned through my various teachers that without support and understanding, it is difficult to accomplish anything.
