My primary goal with all of my students is to help them make great music that is true to themselves. I also try to stick with a sound-before-symbol approach to learning music. I play with my students all the time, creating occasions for performance and giving my students contexts for taking pride in their musical achievements. I am a cellist, composer, and teacher currently residing in Upper Manhattan. I love performing, teaching, and creating exciting new music with all of my friends and students. In music, I am a believer in realistic positive reinforcement. Unearthing mistakes and discussing them is quite uncomfortable for anyone.
