When anyone first meets me, I think they will notice that I am a very energetic, outgoing, and positive person and teacher which I believe directly translates to my teaching style. I am very patient with my students, but I also push my students to achieve their greatest aspirations--whether that is merely to play a scale or to play a concerto! I am extremely empathetic to a fault and sensitive to each student's individual needs and the pace at which they want to learn. Read More

I received my Bachelor of Music in Music Education in December 2016, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and went on to teach Orchestra as a long-term substitute after graduation. I was also invited to be a Conducting Fellow at Bard College in both Summer 2015 and Summer 2016. After relocating to Erie, Pennsylvania, I became a Pre-K Lead Teacher and the Music Director at a preschool where I taught and coordinated music lessons for students ages 2-5. Read More

The most rewarding part of being a teacher is to see your students grow and love their musicianship. Music is a language that is more universal than any other language in the world! Passing on the knowledge and works of composers and artists from yesterday to today. I set realistic goals for my students that are achievable and rewarding. I tend to look on the positive side of each performance and I teach through kindness humor and respect. Read More

After each lesson, I wrote down their homework, and if a parent is there, I go over their progress. If it's an adult student, I obviously don't have to do that, but I enjoy all ages, and have students 4-82 currently! I even go to teach my 82 year old student, at her assisted living place! The difference between a kid and an adult student, is usually, that the child notices the correctly notes, while the adult thinks they had to be 7 to learn. Read More

MY name is Oded and I am an Israeli Cellist currently living in NYC. I started playing the cello when I was 4 after watching a video of Yo-Yo Ma perform Elgar Cello Concerto, which made me fall in-love with the sound of the cello. I began my studies in Suzuki method and soon moved to study at a music conservatory in my own town Kfar-Saba, Israel. I then graduated from both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Cello Performance and have been performing around the world as a chamber musician and a soloist ever since, playing in major recital halls such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, and Tel-Aviv Museum. It depends on the student's age and level of skill, however, I like to focus on building a good rapport with a student while learning and cementing the essentials of cello playing: having a good posture, holding the bow, reading, etc. I prefer to have a process that is somewhat slow in the beginning and that gradually picks up as the student becomes more acquainted with the cello. If a new student already knows the basic things, I still like to do a quick brush up to see what bad habits need to be fixed and how we can move forward in the most productive way. Read More
