I taught at the Boston Conservatory extension program when it existed. I went to japan and saw Suzuki as part of my training for teaching the Suzuki method. I belong to ASTA and SAA , SMS and AFM I've had students playing in the suzuki festivals. Students I've taught are now having excellent careers as professional musicians. I'm a passionate instructor whose goal is to empower students through music. In May 2018, I graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Cello Performance. At BU, I had the opportunity to perform as assistant concertmaster with the University Orchestra, and performed in master classes for Boston Symphony Orchestra members. I also spent a semester studying music in London, at the renowned Royal College of Music. Teaching should never revolve around the notion that "perfection" is the ultimate" goal. This way of thinking not only provides my students with a false sense of hope, but more importantly is simply unattainable. In the modern age of playing, too often do I feel students losing sight of what is most important: the music. While good intonation and rhythm are certainly important, what I hope to instill in each of my students is a level of understanding far beyond learning the "notes" on the page. Read More

  I am currently about to complete my undergraduate degree at Wheaton College in Norton, MA.  During my freshman year, I auditioned for and was accepted into the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.  With this ensemble, I gained extensive training as a touring cellist in a large orchestra.  We perfomed regularly in Symphony Hall Boston, Sander's Theatre Harvard, a tour to Carnegie Hall (reviewed by the NY Times and turned into a live recording for sale), as well as a tour to The Netherlands in June 2013 where we played in 5 cities culminating in a performance in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. For beginning students I start with the Suzuki cello books, and teach books 1 to 5. I reinforce the Suzuki with pop/ non-classical songs, depending on the student's interest. After Suzuki 5, which is well into the intermediate level, I introduce individual works (small concerto's, sonatas, etc.) and cater them towards the student's ability and interest. For younger or beginner students, I reinforce the Suzuki books with sight-reading, and as they progress, I add in etude studies.  Read More

For beginning students, my main goal is to lead them to appreciate and love music for the rest of their lives. I work on fundamentals like the proper posture, developing good ears for correct tones, and how to correctly hold the bow. A perfect understanding of basics goes a long way. My favored teaching material for beginner student is Suzuki books, Popper etudes, Galamian scale book, Dozauer book, and all standard common concertos and sonatas. Read More
