Every student is different and it is up to the educator to facilitate a program that fits the needs and desires of the student in order to create the best possible music experience. My love for music began at a very young age when I was an avid collector of recordings and began private lessons on piano and guitar. Every student is unique in how they approach and respond to music, so I make it a point to teach each individual student at their own pace. I also try to gauge what motivates and excites them, which allows me to better help them grow and develop in desired areas. Knowing these areas will help make lessons more fun, engaging, and rewarding for the students. When teaching adult students, I will accommodate them based on their goals, needs, and skill level. I like to approach every student in a way that fits their particular goals. I began playing when I was 11 years old and clearly remember the teachers that motivated me. Instead of just having a set curriculum, every lesson was geared towards me and my ability. I always keep that in mind and treat every student on a case by case basis. Music should be fun and exciting, not feel like a chore! Read More
