My orchestra playing involves a local theater company, as well as various high schools. I entered Swarthmore College with delusions of becoming some sort of academic, but quickly switched to a music major, finding it impossible to concentrate on anything else. My teaching experiance has been mainly one one one. I've never given group lessons mainly because you can't totally focus on the student when there are several people involved. The best teaching/learning situation is the individual lesson where the focus is on one person. All my lessons are with one individual. I started taking private music lessons at age 7 and never stopped! From piano, to flute, and eventually to electric bass and upright bass. Supplemented by music programs through my schooling, I progressed rapidly on upright bass, starting at age 15, and graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance. Starting in high school I began teaching students as young as 6 and as old as 65, providing in-home guitar and bass lessons.
