I am very passionate and love teaching and sharing my knowledge of music. After graduating college in 2011, I started to teach full-time and during this time I learned so much on how to go about teaching people of all ages and different musical backgrounds. I taught in various music stores, I later started my online teachings. I later moved to Philadelphia from Alabama, since I've been here I've started online teaching and playing music gigs with various bands. Read More

One of my main goals as a teacher is to get to know my student, how they best learn, and what it is they love about music. My own love for music and particular bands/genres is what gave me the drive to keep practicing, and I bring this same approach to each of my lessons. Nothing makes me more happy than to see one of my students getting excited about something they are playing--and because of this, I structure my lessons to maximize the aspects of music each student enjoys, while making sure to incorporate fundamental aspects of technique and music theory regardless of the particular music we are studying. I have found the last few years very rewarding as students become musicians. Since my first student I taught in 2004, through the days I taught at a music school, up right on to the present moment, I love passing the music onward as it was passed to me. Being a multi generational musician, it's important to me to teach this great artform and pass it down through generations. I also like to let my students know that "music lasts a lifetime." Because, if my students practice the material five days a week, for a minimum of 30 minutes, their skills as well as confidence will grow. Read More

My first love has always been teaching. I'm a people person and enjoy the one on one with a student and enjoy watching their progress and helping them grow into an accomplished musician. Beginning bass players will start with The Simandl Method regardless if Electric or Double Bass. This book has been the standard for decades and continues to help players find the foundation for their playing. As the student progresses we will start to add appropriate pieces for them to learn and perform. Electric players and Upright players can start choosing songs or pieces they want to learn. We will work with that so they feel they are accomplishing goals they want to accomplish and learning pieces they want to learn. Read More
