The way that I do this is by placing an emphasis on music the student enjoys, and by giving the student a fair amount of autonomy in choosing their repertoire they would like to learn. After that I received a bachelors degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas and then a masters degree in trumpet performance from the University of Texas at Arlington. My passion for teaching has grown over the years, and brought me great pleasure helping beginner students gain skills, confidence, and a sense of pride and accomplishment in learning to successfully play a musical instrument.
