I like to let a student learn at his/her own pace, as long as they are focused and putting in the effort. If somebody is a complete beginner, we'll likely begin by learning about basic elements of music (pitch, rhythm) as well as basics of the instrument (tuning, right hand/left hand placement and technique). If the student has some experience with the instrument already, we can talk about what music they are interested in and what they hope to gain from taking lessons. Read More

I am a professional musician and educator in New York City, I love talking about anything related to music, I am constantly challenging myself to learn new things about music and the greatest process to learn more about music is to share it with others. I went to Berklee College of Music on a full-ride scholarship, I graduated in 2013 with an honors diploma in music education and performance from the Global Jazz Institute. Read More

My teaching style is very "go with the flow." Each day is a new opportunity to learn a little more about music and your chosen instrument. Each lesson is a time where we can delve deeply into one piece of music, or jump around to several different topics. Of course, there is always room for structure and I make sure that we stay on track! There are so many different aspects of each instrument to cover, but there no need to get bogged down with complicated acronyms and over complex methodology. Read More
