One of my goals as a teacher is to make sure my students learn one new thing every week! Whether it be a concept about reading notes on a staff or figuring out how to play there first chord. Each student progresses at a different pace so my method for teaching one student how to read notes depends on how much they can at a time. If a specific concept is more difficult for a certain student there are plenty of goals to be achieved in the journey of grasping that concept. Read More

Jacob began his musical fruition at the age of 8 years old, after being inspired by listening to Rock N Roll and being surrounded by a family of musicians. He later went on to perform with cover bands in an array of musical academies across venues in New York and New Jersey; most notably The Cutting Room, McLoones Supper Club, The Stone Pony, House of Independence, and many more. After years of being taught by professional musicians, band instructors, and guitar teachers, he became dedicated to his inner-musical obligation and received his degree from Rowan University; studying Music Industry of Technology and minoring in Human Resource Management. I teach primarily guitar lessons. I have been teaching guitar lessons since Jan 2003. I am formally trained, know extensive music theory, and can read (and will teach, if desired) standard notation (a.k.a. "sheet music"). I have played in all kinds of bands for over 2 decades (rock, metal, classic rock, pop, funk, reggae, disco, oldies, and more). I know literally thousands and thousands of songs. Even though there are many guitar players out there with much stronger technical skills and agility than myself, I am honestly one of the best guitar teachers out there. Read More

Over the last 21 years, I have performed all over the country as a bassist and guitarist with various ensembles, playing everything from rock to hip hop, blues to funk, etc. My recording session work includes commercials, film scores and soundtracks, and numerous independent releases. I’m proud to say that several of my students have gone on to study music at various institutions including my own Alma Mater, Berklee College of Music. Read More

I began teaching when I was 17 and have a pretty busy schedule of up to 35 students a week! Many of those students still continue to take lessons after 3 years of instruction and have improved beyond their original goals. I find that each student has different interests (rock, jazz, classical, pop, etc.) which is why I enjoy focusing on what they want to learn. Other students do not know exactly what they want to learn; however, they just want to improve in playing their instrument all around. Read More
