Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For beginning students I typically start by listening to them perform a sound that they feel shows their ability and work with them to determine a goal to further their progress. For singers, we begin by building a set of vocal warmups and exercises. For instrumentalists, we will being with an exercise book that is suited to their level. Overall, I try to maintain a balance of repertoire for my students that both challenges the expands their flexibility as well as inspires them to build their skills. Read More

I have been teaching since getting my masters in 1999 - from Brooklyn and NYC to New Haven, CT, where I now teach vocal technique to all ages at the Educational Center for The Arts (Performing Arts High School) and at the Neighborhood Music School. I love to teach healthy singing to all ages, styles and levels, and lessons are alot of fun and immensely productive. I am a very organised teacher, giving each of my students lesson notes with exercises and aspects to work on. I regularly suggest music which complements the work we are doing to strengthen the voice, create flexibility, or consistency of tone. I am a bit of a perfectionist, but I also hold myself to that high standard. For my older students I always try and find out what they would like to focus on specifically. I usually begin with what they feel their musical strengths and weaknesses are. From there we build up their strengths and create newer strengths. I create my own personal lesson plans to cater to each individual student.
