I have previously taught piano and voice to children when I was in high school. In college, I worked with Tammy Hensrud and Craig Schulman (who has starred in Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera). In turn, I gave voice lessons to fellow students within my drama program who wanted to further develop their singing techniques. From 2013 - 2021, I lived in the Czech Republic, developing personal and collaborative projects outside of classical music such as singing and composing for Yo Soy Indigo (freak-folk-jazz), Looncall (dark electronic), as well as solo performances of original music. Growing up I was always told “practice makes perfect”, though as I grew I realized music is art and art was never meant to be perfect. I do make sure to encourage all of my students to practice as it does help make you a better musician, but perfection is never the goal. Music is an expression and a gift that should always be treated as such. I keep track each week in a notebook of what their assignments are. I use many different books, learning by ear, learning by youtube, learning by rout, and I have developed my own music writing technique which decodes any song at any level to a much easier level because all students are unique, and deserve to have a teacher who can reach them.
