I grew up singing in the children's choruses of The Metropolitan Opera and NYC Opera, dancing at The School of American Ballet in The Julliard School at Lincoln Center. I earned a college preparatory diploma from The Manhattan School of Music and went on to earn my BM and MM at Westminster Choir College (a world renowned choral conservatory in Princeton, NJ). In this series Books I-III build a strong base upon which a student can specialize in different genre and styles graduating from book III. For adult students beginning I would suggest John Thompon's Adult (or Modern) Piano Course. The pacing of this book is far more accelerated and more in keeping with an adult pace to work with. I like to keep my students motivated. I like to set goals, not only for myself as a teacher, but also for my students. The reason for this is that if the student is working towards a goal they have a motivation to keep moving forward.
