I like to start by exploring where the student is at in their musical education and what they are looking to study in private lessons. From there, we build the lesson around them! Once we’ve established where to begin, I’ll ask the student to choose a piece they’d like to perform and I’ll assign them a piece of my own choice as well. Some of my students enjoy improvisation or composition/song writing or pop/Disney songs over classical. Other students prefer the classical method strictly. Hi! My name is Megan, and I have a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance and Choral Conducting from Andrews University. Before that, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Voice Performance from Southern Adventist University. Performing has been a joy of mine, and I've had the opportunity to perform with some amazing groups, such as Andrews University Singers and Southern Adventist University's I Cantori. Most recently, I had the privilege of presenting Gustav Mahler's "Kindertotenlieder" song cycle at the Howard Performing Arts Center in Berrien Springs. Read More
