For beginning students I use the Bastien System. For Adults, I use The Alfred Adult beginner for Piano Lessons. I try to adapt the method to the skill of the student, which incorporates my own system, based on years of teaching. I teach according to the student;s skill, and at their own pace. I sometimes use the Trinity College of Music, london, syllabus. Classes consist of warming up exercises, then the student works on the music assigned and the Instructor gives it a grade. Read More

I started learning and playing piano from an early age, and have been teaching music for over thirty years. More than anything I strive to introduce my students to the beauty of music, and approach them with the same amount of passion and enthusiasm. I try to make the learning experience as fun as possible, while ensuring progress. I am very positive and my biggest priority is to make my students happy and make sure they enjoy every lesson. I like to get an idea from the student and the parent what their expectations are for music lessons. From there, the student and I come up with musical goals to accomplish for that year. We create a practice schedule based on the student's school and extracurricular activities and try to follow that schedule as much as possible. I also like to incorporate other styles of music such as popular Broadway pieces and Contemporary pieces into the student's repertoire so that they can have greater diversity in their piano playing or singing. My teaching styles are ever-changing but first and foremost I strive to meet the student where they are at in their musical journey, work in small chunks and learn to love the act of learning. Timing, technique, tuning, dynamics, timbre, music theory, writing, recording, listening improvisation (and more) are all crucial to being a modern musician but the most important of these is fun. If you aren't enjoying my teaching then I am not doing my job correctly. Read More

I want my students to succeed, so when I begin teaching a student, I pay attention to their personalities and observe methods that do and do not work for them. I ask a lot of questions and encourage them to ask questions and give feedback, and I try to make the environment comfortable so they feel comfortable doing so. I teach based on understanding. If one does not understand then they can't move forward, so I make sure my students aren't confused. Read More

I am a music-loving teacher and eager to share and enjoy with my students the marvelous experience of making music as a way of personal growth and development. Since I was 13 I started singing and playing guitar. At 16 I started doing it professionally and managed to take my art to a large part of my country (Venezuela) and several Latin American countries. I have great experience in the area of popular music, live singing, recording in a studio and breathing techniques and antistress that I can share with my students to facilitate the easiest and fun way to make music.
