Music has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. I grew up in Florida, and in middle school, I joined band and chose the Flute as my instrument. I've played in numerous All-County concert performances in both my middle school and high school careers. I've continued to play throughout college, despite not being a music major, and have played for numerous weddings and funerals. I continue to strengthen my skill in performance as well as music theory. Read More
Instruments: Voice
My way of working the voice in particular is a combination of yoga breathing techniques, the Alexander singing method and the Stanilavsky method of acting. This to achieve a better awareness of the vibration and awareness of the vocal instrument. As for the guitar, I also combine typing exercises and coordination of the classical school and then move on to the area of chord and harmony construction a little more related to the jazz and contemporary music school. My students enjoy progressively knowing and discovering the possibilities of their instrument and then go looking for their pop sound and their own forms of expressiveness, leaving me as an advisor or coach in the musical forms that they wish to explore and enjoy. They will develop the "weak" hand and foot, limb independence coordination, and rudimentary skills. I teach a student to be completely independent on the kit by teaching them how to set-up and tune themselves. The first lesson will cover basic notation, as it applies to the drum kit, as well as a satisfactory play of a simple groove utilizing quarters and eighth notes. Read More
