I am full of energy and love learning as much as I can, but I also understand that full and in depth skill requires time and a certain level of patience and consistency. I relay this to students by repetition (specifically of principles), though I keep it fun and exciting by varying the application. Once the principle is fully grasped, we move on. I, however, focus mostly on technique and allow the student to do the necessary song preparations outside of the lesson (unless they are needing help). This gives them the ability to build their own characters and interpretations. This also pushes them to use the skills that they have and make them stronger.
