I started professionally teaching bass and guitar in high school. I still have all of my students that I started out with. Making sure that my students don't get bored during a lesson is my main goal. Most students don't practice what they were taught in a lesson if the lesson was boring. I make sure that all my students stay happy in the lesson and excited to learn new things. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. My methods include playing by ear, learning the foundation and solfeggi. Read More

Therefore, it is imperative that teachers reflect upon their practice to build on what works in the classroom and also to modify what needs improvement. Nurturing personal and meaningful relationships is also key. When students and their parents believe that a teacher is invested in a child's learning and future, we find growth. Read More

After receiving my Associate degree, I began studying Music Education at Florida Atlantic University. Currently I am just a couple of semesters away from receiving my Bachelor of Music Education degree. I can't wait to share my knowledge and experience with others, and gain even more expeience along the way. Read More
