I don't believe in a one size fits all mentality for music education, I've often seen this approach derail students from enjoying the process and eventually terminating their relationship with music overall. Students are a case-by-case basis, and in that regard, each lesson is catered to the students actual goals and interests. My teaching experience began when I was in grad school, where I taught a few students at a local high school. Since moving to the KC area eight years ago, I have been consistently teaching and gradually building my private studio, which now has over 20 students! I love working with young singers (specifically grades 8-12) and helping them find the potential in their voices.  I have encountered the full range of ability levels, from very experienced (had lessons before, sung multiple solos in school choir, had lead roles in musicals, etc.) to complete novice (no lessons, no choir experience).  My overall approach to lessons is the same, regardless of ability level: consistent improvement from week to week using vocal exercises, songs, and an exploration of breath and the physicality of singing. I am a native of Russia. In 2001 I moved to the United States. In 2005 I became a US citizen. I studied music for seven years to earn my Bachelor of Arts degree in vocals and piano. I studied six more years in conservatory to obtain my Masters degrees in music performance and education. I love to teach and to see my students progress in their musical studies.
