I like students to keep a practice notebook which we fill out during the lesson. Rather than being required to practice for a set number of minutes per day, we instead keep track of how many times an exercise or song is practiced. David began composing and producing commercial music shortly after graduating high school, working for Panoptic Media. I am passionate about all aspects of music, including music composition, theory, and history, and I include these important subjects in my instruction. I believe that anyone has the potential to be a talented musician, regardless of age, abilities, or former experience. And my love of singing and teaching led me to pursuing a music education degree that I am about to go into my senior year of at Miami University. During my time at Miami so far I have had hours of field experience getting to teach elementary, middle, and high school music classes. This involved creating and teaching my own lesson plans. This past year I took a vocal pedagogy course and part of this course was taking on college aged voice students to teach and prepare them for a recital and both of my students were successful.
