For brass instrumental students, I generally use the Rubank Method books, focusing on care of the instrument and basic fundamentals. For piano students I use a variety of different method books and am not tied down to any one series. We will also work on scales and the Hannon series For vocal students, I use a series of vocalises, scales and other exercises to strengthen the voice. In my experience, but is no surprise, I've seen that children learn in different ways. Flexibility within ones teaching style is necessary to help develop the young singer.
